Created in 2022, the São Paulo Parasymphonic Orchestra, OPESP (Orquestra Parassinfônica do Estado de São Paulo), aims at supporting, encouraging and promoting culture and education for people with disability, focusing on concert, instrumental and vocal music.

 

Our goal is contribute towards a society free from stigmas and prejudice against people with disability.

OPESP launched on 3rd December 2022, at the prestigious Sala São Paulo, an emblematic day for strengthening awareness and celebrating the achievements of people with disabilities.

In december 2022, the year OPESP was launched, cultural producer Igor Cayres won the government award for arts ‘Prêmio Governo do Estado de São Paulo para as Artes’, in the categories Inclusion, Diversity and Access to Culture for the creation of the São Paulo Parasymphonic Orchestra.
